Aptitude Software: Driving Business Value from Strategic Foresight

Adam Flowers, Regional Director, APAC, Aptitude SoftwareAdam Flowers, Regional Director, APAC
Traditionally, the role of a CFO was primarily to keep the ‘books in order’, provide corporate governance and to report back on the financial position of the company. However, CFOs are now under increasing pressure to support increasingly complex regulatory compliance and, as the custodians of financial data, to provide corporate strategic guidance rather than just governance. Business heads are looking to the finance function to deliver high value, business insight to drive smart decision making and profitable growth. Fundamental to this is being able to harness and exploit financial data. However, most CFOs struggle to get a ‘single view of finance’. Data volumes and types are exploding, and data is often dispersed across multiple silo, disparate systems. With lots of market consolidation the challenge is increased by inherited legacy systems resulting in complex technology landscapes. This makes it very difficult with huge manual effort to access and consolidate data to deliver a trusted, single version of the truth.

Regulation demands for transparency and the need for CFOs to provide a 360-degree view of business performance requires access to not just finance data, but also operational data, at a highly granular level. Once consolidated it can be exploited by applying analytical processes and complex calculations to deliver true business value and strategic foresight.

The need to unlock the power of this data is creating a need for finance transformation.

“Our core mission is to enable the journey to the future of finance by providing the operational control, compliance, and centralised reporting that clients require, as well as enabling them to use their financial data for strategic foresight,” says Adam Flowers, APAC, Regional Director, Aptitude Software.
Aptitude Software has been serving CFO needs for over 20 years by delivering financial integration, accounting engines and regulatory solutions. Aptitude Software’s unrivalled finance domain expertise and innovative software products are empowering a next generation of finance architecture and supporting CFOs to navigate the rapid pace of finance and accounting change.

Aptitude Software focuses on financial management applications - purpose built by finance industry experts to empower the finance function of large enterprises.

Aptitude’s solution portfolio includes applications to ensure regulatory compliance such as an IFRS 17 Solution, revenue management (for compliance with ASC 606 and IFRS 15) and a lease accounting engine (for compliance with ASC 842 and IFRS 16).

But the core of its product suite is the Aptitude Accounting Hub. The Accounting Hub centralizes and automates accounting, finance, and reporting processes, from source-to-post, from a single location. This gives complete control to finance teams and frees up time to be better spent on high-value tasks.

The Accounting Hub includes a robust, multi-GAAP thick subledger and supports pre-integrated calculation engines. It consolidates vast amounts of structured and unstructured data, from multiple silo sources, creating a standardized, enriched and granular data model. This provides a rich, data foundation that is accessible and can be harnessed to unlock valuable business insight.

The Aptitude Accounting Hub simplifies the most complex of finance architectures creating a ‘single view of finance’ and a launch pad for digital financial transformation.

“By automating processes and centralizing both the calculated and transactional data, Accounting Hub enables clients to drill-back into the transactional data to ascertain what’s really driving their financial performance,” says Adam.

As the enabler of digital finance, Aptitude Software supports clients predominantly in the banking, insurance and the telecom space. “We have continually maintained relevance in the market by understanding and incorporating the clients’ requirements into our product roadmaps, to support all clients as we go forward,” says Adam.

Aptitude Software is dedicated to helping its clients transform their finance departments, support regulatory compliance and deliver a future-ready platform. They are empowering CFOs to provide strategic guidance with surety and confidence. They are currently supporting large enterprise clients across five continents and over 42 countries.
